5.0 out of 5 stars I had been eating tylenol like it was candy since the night before, June 5, 2015
By Ronna Modlin (Kansas)
This review is from: Migraine and Headache Relief- A Natural and Safe Pain Management Product That’s Easy on Your Digestion, and Won’t Make You a Zombie (Health and Beauty)

I have chronic migraines and am always on the lookout for migraine pills that don’t knock me out for the day, but still relieve my migraines. I have finally found them! The day that these Migraine Relief Tablets arrived, I had been fighting a sick to my stomach type migraine all morning. I had been eating tylenol like it was candy since the night before, and it wasn’t working. I was literally on the verge of going to the ER so that I could get a shot. Needless to say, when I opened the box and saw these had arrived, I was all too eager to try these. I started with one pill. The usage instructions say you take 1-2, and up to 4 if that doesn’t work. After about an hour, my head was still throbbing, so I took a second one. By the end of the second hour, my migraine had actually started to let up. Three hours later, it was less severe but not completely gone, so I took a fourth. It didn’t take but MAYBE another hour before my migraine was GONE. Zero, Zip, Zilch pain! I almost cried! It’s… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars I’ve Suffered from Migraines Since Age 7 and Never Found Relief Like Doloex Before, June 16, 2015
This review is from: Migraine and Headache Relief- A Natural and Safe Pain Management Product That’s Easy on Your Digestion, and Won’t Make You a Zombie (Health and Beauty)

Honestly, I know this is crazy but I couldn’t have timed it myself: I was just starting to feel the onset of a headache about 45 minutes before my mail arrived and had yet to take action on the headache by doing the usual: neck stretches and massage, back and arm stretches to further relax the neck and head muscles, drink water and take naproxen. When I finally got up from my desk to do these things I got a bing! on my phone–a text from USPS that I had a package delivered, so I went and got my mail and when I opened it, there was Doloex! I had completely forgotten I had ordered it and here it was at the perfect time for me to give it a try.

15-20 minutes after taking Doloex for the first time, my headache was not worse, but it was a little hard to tell if it was getting better or if I was temporarily experiencing waves of minor relief from drinking water and stretching. But, after 45-60 minutes I completely forgot I had a headache just earlier that hour. I had taken two… Read more

These Doloex tablets are simply amazing. I am the variety that likes to ride a headache out and see if it will go away on its own, and haven’t taken any OTC pain killers for years. So by the time I actually take one of these, I feel like my eyes are about to pop out of my head. They still work. Every time. I usually only have to take one to get relief, but when the pain is throbbing I usually up my dose to two to start. I have never had to dose a second time, as the first time always kicks the pain for me! I am so grateful to have something in my medicine cabinet that I can take for myself and give to my kids when they experience pain. Kids like to know that you are doing SOMETHING for them, and I know that I am doing something for them and not imposing any danger on to them as well. I have paid full price for these Doloex tablets for years, so I was thrilled to get this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I will continue to pay full price for these in… Read more

Over The Counter Painkillers for Migraines and Chronic Pain

Over The Counter PainkillersWhich is the best over the counter painkillers, Aspirin, Paracetamol or Ibuprofen or are combinations of each the best remedy.

Aspirin has been known to be very useful for headaches or migraines, but this product is not suitable for sufferers who have nausea with there illness because of a possibility gastric irritations.

There is increasing evidence that doses of 300mg on one day and 75mg on alternate days may keep migraine headaches at bay and 600mg for treating the migraine pain (see your GP).

Enteric-Coated Aspirins: Aspirin tablets that are enteric coated are far easier to swallow but are not suitable for people suffering from migraines as these tablet take longer to work and should ideally opt for soluble Aspirins. Children under 12 years of age should NOT take Aspirin products.

Paracetamol can be very effective to some migraine headache sufferers because this has less stomach irritations, but one treatment of this product is not normally enough to be fully effective. Many products contain sub-therapeutic doses of Paracetamol, and overdosing potential is getting widespread. Chronic pain or migraine sufferers should always remember that the maximum adult dose is 8 x 500mg tablets daily spread at least 4 hours apart. Please read the product labels.

Similar to Aspirin and Paracetamol, Ibuprofen can be very beneficial for migraine sufferers but gastric irritations can be quite high, but not as much as Aspirin. Asthmatic should stay clear of Ibuprofen because of sensitivity issues. There are also some sustained release products containing Ibuprofen, which are not suitable for migraine headache sufferers as a fast action is required.

There are loads of products containing Paracetamol, aspirin, or ibuprofen that have a combination of codeine. The British National Formulary say that these combinations have little or no effect on treating pain and that it is just a placebo effect if it seemed to work on a patient. As there has been no scientific evidence to prove either way, people who take these combinations find that it works for them. A dose of 15mg of Codeine is best for painkilling, but constipation can be the side effect from taking this product. Some soluble codeine is available on the market, which is a benefit for migraine sufferers as speed of pain easing is essential.

Caffeine is getting a norm as an addition to painkillers such as 500mg Paracetamol + 65mg of caffeine found in medication like Hedex Extra. Codeine combinations seem to work for large amount of people. But taking caffeine contained products if you are thinking of sleeping or resting your head may not be the answer as caffeine has mood enhancing properties, taking a caffeine combination if you have or thought you were getting a migraine headache and then having to drive home from work could be just what you need.

Migraleve has a combination of Paracetamol and an antihistamine called buclizine, this combination has great anti-sickness properties and this taken with the yellow Migraleve containing codeine (taken 3-4 hours later) is one of the best over the counter painkillers.

The two antihistamines doxylamine and diphenhydramine found in painkillers containing the three combinations of Paracetamol, codeine and caffeine the combination of these antihistamines give a relaxing, calming and sedative effect – this is very useful for tension headaches.

Stomach emptying slows down when you have a migraine headache, so take your painkillers as soon as possible to ensure that the drug will reach your intestine, where most of the painkillers are absorbed. Taking soluble tablets will work more quickly that standard formulations, but if you do not have access to soluble pain relief then try taking your tablets with a sweet fizzy drink, but just take your tablets as soon as you possibly can this is most important. Some people think not taking painkiller at the on coming of a headache or migraine just in the thought it may go away can then end up with hours of pain or the worse case days of pain, so take them as soon a feel you are getting the pain.

If you take to many over the counter painkillers on regular occasion, this has been known to cause extra headaches in some susceptible people taking more than 14 tablets per week can trigger daily headaches.
